Electric Alfa Romeo GT Restomod Sprints to 60 MPH in 2.9 Seconds

Totem Automobili, an Italian brand specializing in classic Alfa Romeo restomods, has unveiled its latest creation: an all-electric GT Electric ‘Zeal 01’. Commissioned by a California-based client, the vehicle reimagines the iconic GT as a silent, high-performance EV. This contrasts sharply with Totem’s other builds, which often feature powerful twin-turbo V6 engines.

Exterior Design & Customization

The Zeal 01 maintains the classic GT’s stunning silhouette but introduces a striking color scheme: Accurro Pervinca, accented with satin gold detailing on the headlights, grille, mirrors, and even the windshield wipers. The custom-designed wheels complement the exterior, making it a visually arresting machine.

Interior Craftsmanship

The cabin is arguably even more impressive. Totem has meticulously crafted a luxurious interior with custom gauges framed in satin gold, a three-spoke steering wheel wrapped in blue leather, and extensive use of carbon fiber on the dashboard and door panels. The seats are upholstered in a mix of blue and cream Nappa leather, with a unique fabric applied to the Sabelt seat backs. A leather headliner completes the opulent design.

Performance & Technical Specs

Despite ditching the traditional engine, the electric powertrain doesn’t compromise on performance. The Zeal 01 houses a 590-horsepower electric motor, enabling a 0-60 mph acceleration in just 2.9 seconds. The car also offers an estimated range of 300 miles on a single charge. High-performance Brembo brakes and electronically controlled suspension ensure exceptional handling.

This restomod demonstrates a growing trend: the electrifying of classic cars. While some enthusiasts lament the loss of internal combustion, the Zeal 01 proves that EVs can deliver exhilarating performance without sacrificing style or heritage.

The shift toward electric restomods raises questions about the future of classic car preservation. Will these conversions become commonplace, or will they remain niche projects for wealthy collectors? Either way, Totem Automobili has set a high bar for what’s possible when combining vintage aesthetics with modern electric technology.
