2026 Lexus ES Pricing: Electric Models Undercut Hybrid Versions

12

Lexus has announced pricing for its redesigned 2026 ES lineup, which now includes hybrid and all-electric variants. Notably, the electric ES models start at a lower price point than the hybrid version, a reversal of the typical premium associated with EVs.

Hybrid Pricing and Changes

The 2026 ES350h hybrid replaces the outgoing ES300h and carries a starting price of $50,995. This represents a significant increase of $6,280 over the previous generation’s base price, likely due to the vehicle’s increased size and updated features.

Lexus offers the ES350h in Premium ($50,995) and Premium+ ($55,795) trims, with all-wheel drive available for an additional $1,400 on both. Both front-wheel and all-wheel drive models deliver 243 horsepower.

Electric ES Models: Price and Performance

The all-electric ES350e is the most affordable ES model, starting at $48,795. This undercuts the hybrid by over $2,000. The base Premium trim offers front-wheel drive, 220 horsepower, and a claimed range of 300 miles. An upgraded Luxury trim is available for $57,195.

For buyers seeking all-wheel drive, the ES500e provides dual motors with a combined output of 338 horsepower, starting at $51,795 for the Premium trim and $60,195 for the Luxury. However, range drops to an estimated 250 miles with the all-wheel drive configuration.

What This Means

The decision to price the electric ES lower than its hybrid counterpart is a strategic move by Lexus, potentially aimed at attracting more buyers to electric vehicles. This pricing structure challenges the common expectation that EVs carry a higher upfront cost. The availability of both hybrid and all-electric options provides consumers with increased flexibility, while the inclusion of all-wheel drive variants caters to diverse driving conditions.

Lexus has not yet announced official sale dates for the 2026 ES models. A first drive review is expected in May.
